The president of the Republic of Somaliland Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilaahi (Cirro) today led the country to mark the National Planting Day.

The president also initiated the  launch of the planting of 3 million trees, during the period of the government togetherness and action. The ceremony was organised by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

The general aim of the National Planting Day of JSL is to prevent the impact of climate change on all the living, especially the life of Somaliland.

The president spoke about the National Planting Day saying the rise in temperature, the floods, the droughts that are affecting the country are due to climatic changes.

The president further  said lack of trees means lack of life, because it depends on our lives and our animals.

The project of planting 3 million trees is based on the promises that the president of JSL made with the people of Somaliland during the election.
