Somaliland government signs deal with Maharat Investment company to modernize Egal Airport

The minister of air transport and airport development Mr. Fuaad Ahmed Nuux (pictured) has signed with the international investment company Maharat Investment an agreement that will see the  building and modernizing the airport in Hargeisa capital Egal International Airport.

A $70 Million (Seventy Million Dollar) Construction Agreement was signed today at Dubai International Financial Center (Dubai International Finance Center – DIFC).

This project will be the largest investment for the infrastructure of the Republic of Somaliland and the second largest project after DP World’s foreign investment, and the construction of the airport will start within 6 months after the agreement is signed.
