Somaliland president Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro) marks his first new year in office with a message of unity, prosperity, development and big success for the nation of Somaliland for the year 2025.
In a message to the nation hours before the Horn of Africa nation and the world ushered in the 2025, Irro who took the reins of leadership after the November 13, 2024 elections said the government that he is driving is based on collection and work and to serve the people of Somaliland who elected him with confidence.
“In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Gracious, the Most Grateful to Allah.
Brothers and sisters, for the sake of the new year festival of 2025, I am sending my congratulations, prayers and advice to all Somaliland citizens, inside and outside, civil and government workers, different national army, their wives and children,” he said in a new year message.
“I am saying to you may Allah make the year 2025 one for us like prosperity, development and big success that our nation republic of Somaliland,” he added.
He said that despite the challenges the country is facing, citizens should remain united.
“Despite the difficult challenges that are facing us in the security, financial and social areas together and holding hands we can achieve victory, and we can bring against our enemies.”
“Brothers and sisters, the government that I am driving is based on collection and work and to serve the people of Somaliland who elected us with confidence, my ears and hearts are open for you.”
Irro said his government will welcome support and criticism at equal measures and at the same time congratulated the citizens for their commitment in building the nation and ensuring peace prevailed.
“You can count on us, you can correct us, you can criticize us for what you see wrongs, which we will not take you to fight, war, and any political rhetoric.”
“Brothers and sisters, I congratulate you for your efforts and your role in building the nation, development of the society and keeping peace. I encourage you to promote the unity between yourselves and compete for cooperation and development, and at the same time protect the existence of our nation Republic of Somaliland.”
Irro said the new year will be focused on building strong relationships with Somaliland’s neighbors and called on a peaceful cohesion in the region.
“The Republic of Somaliland, as usual, it treats the neighboring countries and the international community with consideration, cooperation and living together as the base of peace.”
“Lastly, I am advising my people of Somaliland for the new year to keep the security, and at the same time keep the good ethics that our religion is teaching us.”
