Somaliland President Muse Bihi is on the verge of conceding defeat in the just concluded elections with his challengee Dr Abdirahman Irro opening an unassailable gap.
Somaliland reporter has learnt that Bihi met President elect Irro on Friday evening in what is seen as part of a planned peaceful transition.
Bihi has accepted the results that indicate Irro, the Waddani candidate leading by a gap of 183,594 votes with 97 percent of the polling stations recorded.
With only 70 polling stations yet to make returns, Irro looks to be the next occupant of the presidential palace.
As of going to press Irro had amassed 398,843 votes which is 64.5 percent of the votes counted while Bihi has 215, 249 votes representing 34.7 percent of the 619,035 votes counted.
