    President, opposition meet in show of unity

    Somaliland President Abdirahman Maxamed Cabdilaahi (Cirro) had a meeting with the top leadership of the opposition party Kulmiye represented by its chairman Maxamed Kahin Ahmed, the 1st deputy chairman Mr. Abdicasiis Mohamed Samale and the second deputy chairman. Ahmed Abdi Dheere.
    The main agenda of the meeting which on request by the higher leaders of Kulmiye was to discuss how the political party can work closely with the government for national unity.
    Among the issues discussed were how the party can work with the government on the on national security, stability and national defense.
    They also discussed on how to strengthen unity of the Somaliland people, development of democracy and the upcoming parliamentary elections.
    The top leaders of the opposition party in Kulmiye shared general advice with the president regarding the current security, politics, economy and social affairs.
    The opposition congratulated the president for the nationalization process of the army.
    The president emphasized the importance of overcoming political disputes to get Somaliland united for its development and at the same time strengthening the democratic process and the need for a transparent election process.
