The Somaliland farmers’ conference held this week came up with a raft of resolutions among them to strengthen the country’s production.
The conference which was attended by Somaliland president Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi (Cirro) also proposed In strengthening the cooperation between farmers and all producers, the conference focused on national plans of NDP3 and the political programme of the government ‘Wadajir and Action’ and making national plans towards tackling climate change in the side of the production.
The conference further proposed for preparation of investment policy for farmers, which will lead to the creation of a agricultural development bank in the future and at the same time suggested to make studies about suitable land for planting.
There was also talk on sustainability and management of soil and water should be strengthened, setting policy and rescue plans to fight diseases and farm insects, encouraging agricultural investment opportunities, raising awareness of farmers towards agricultural production and strengthening link between farmers and markets and support all challenges to farmers’ market.
