Somaliland supporters of Waddani Presidential candidate Abdulrahman Irro beleives that his leadership of the country will lead to international recognition of the Horn of Africa nation.

At a party convention in Gabiley, Waddani supporters endorced Irro as the party’s presidential candidate for the November 3 elections saying he is the right person to bring change and unity to the country that has for 33 years now been unrecognised internationally.

Party, Hirsi Ali Haji Hassan said “Waddani party is going to make sure that our country gets recognition.”

Somaliland which gained independence on June 26 1960 from the British before merging with Italian colonised Somalia seven days later has remained unrecognised since 1991 when it separated with Somalia.

Despite several attempts, the international community still considers Somaliland as part of Somalia.

But Waddani party lederaship now says they will ensure country gets recognised if they win the presidency.

Presidential cnadidate Abdulrahman Irro said he will unite all Somaliland nationals to ensure the country walked together towards recognition.

“Kulmiye (the rulig party promisec to bring recognition, where are we today? he asked party members.

“As a party (Waddani) we must stand united and bring all the people together so that we can achieve our goals as a nation,” he said.

“I am saying to the civilians today you have a chance, citizen you should evaluate yourself.” And today Kulmiye looks like a party that lost hope.

He promised the people of Gubiley support.

“The green region of Gabiley has the right to have a state, the House of Representatives will fulfill their responsibilities.”
