Outgoing president of Somaliland, Muuse Biixi Abdi held a meeting with the Ambassador of the United States Amb. Richard H. Riley and the Commander of the United States Army of Africa (AFRICOM), Major General Brian Cashman, other officials and military officers of the United States who paid a courtesy call at the presidential palace.
Bihi thanked the delegation members of the US government for the support and cooperation on security of the Horn of Africa.
He also appreciated the security forces of two countries of Somaliland and the United States.
Bihi also noted that the visit of this delegation will strengthen future relations between the two sides.
The delegation together welcomed the speech of the President of the United States Ambassador, Amb. Richard H. Riley and Major General Brian Cashman who said they are ready for co-operation with East Africa security sides. ,
They congratulated the president of Somaliland for the role he played in the development of the country, the democracy issues and the strengthening of the relations between the two countries and the political stabilization of a country that is not yet part of the international community but he fulfilled all the requirements needed.
The US delegation also congratulated the outgoing president for accepting the results of the national electoral commission.
Bihi was accompanied by the ministries of foreign affairs and international cooperation, Dr. Eise Keyd Maxamuud, internal affairs Mr. Mohamed Kaahin Ahmed, the commanders of the military and the intelligence, Supreme Gaas Nuux Ismaaciil Tani and Mustafe Mohamed Hassan (Bacaluul) and the legal advisor of the president Amaal Abdilaahi Cawil.
The US side had Ambassador and Commander of Officials and Senior Officers of the United States Military of Africa including; Colonel Carl Benander, Andrew Kelly, Commander of Politics, Colonel Brian Luti, Matthew Cassidy and Sergeant Major Chadwick Forbes.
