    Houthi pirates attack Sri Lanka bound ship from Berbera port

    A commercial ship operating from Berbera port has been attacked by the Yemeni pirates, the Houthis.

    The pirates hit a missile on a ship as soon as it entered the international waters. The ship was heading to Port Colombo in Sri Lanka.

    The ship was sailing with a flag of Singapore, but it was said to have an Israeli trader, according to Houthis who claimed the responsibility of the ship attack.

    The ship named Lobivia, has operated in many countries had sailed to the Berbera port last week. It was not clear who the owners of the consignment was.

    As the missile that hit Lobivia ship, targeting the containers on the ship, fire broke out, forcing the ship to return to Berbera port, where the fire was extinguished by the safety operators.
    The ship is still at the Berbera Port.

    Ethiopian officials reached Berbera Port yesterday but did not give details about their immigration situation.

    The government of Somaliland has also not commented about the incident.

    Singapore government confirmed that the ship Lobivia was attacked, but the workers were not affected by the damage.
