Somaliland main opposition party WADDANI party and KAAH political organization today officially set up a political coalition that will guide them towards the November 13 presidential elections.
The coalition agreement reached in Somaliland capital Hargeisa came upon after days of discussion between leaders of the two political outfits.
A technical committee will be set between the two sides to set path for a campaign process in support for one presidential candidate to challenge the incumbent Muse Bihi of the Kulmiye party.
A prominent member of the WADDANI campaign team Dr Mohamed Abdillahi Omar said early Thursday morning; ‘This morning we have a success that the political coalition between Wadani Party and Kaah organization about the issues of presidential elections that are facing us.
He added; ‘I hope that the country’s coalition will lead to change (CHANGE) or rescue will be appreciated Inshallah. Dr Mohamed Abdillahi Omar
He said an opposition alliance will be created as a result of the people’s feelings and the will of the nation.
The coalition is a big statement for the Somaliland opposition ahead of the elections.
On Thursday morning, the first session of the announcement of the political alliance between the Wadani party and the Kaah political organization, which is the most supportive organizations, led by Mohamud Hashi, who has held various ministerial positions in the previous governments, is the founder of the Kulmiye party.
In the first meeting, the two sides agreed to set up two technical committees representing both sides to work on this agreement and prepare a big event to publicize the alliance. The committee will begin its work on Saturday. Presidential candidate Abdirahman Irro who made a speech at the scene said, “This cooperation will save the people from anything that delays the election.”
Earlier in his campaign trail, WADDANI Presidential candidate Abdirahman Irro said “I thank the electoral committee for clarifying to the people that the election will take place 13 Nov 2024, get ready for it people.”
‘The Somaliland people who want change and the party of Waddani will unite so that change will happen in our country and vote for peace and development. The first coalition will be between Waddani and Kaah soon,’ added Irro.
