Elections body meets with Human Rights Commission

The electoral commission of Somaliland held a meeting with the national human rights commission to give a brief of the planning for the forthcoming presidential elections.

The human rights body led by chairman Mohamed Baaruud Ali had paid a courtesy call to the electoral commission to be appraised with the electioneering process.

The presidential elections are set for November 13.

The electoral commission briefed the rights body about where the preparation of the Somaliland elections is has reached.

The National Human Rights Commission of Somaliland  congratulated the Electoral Commission for their efforts in ensuring the elections are free, fair and transparent.

They (human rights commission)  advised on issues that need special consideration such as support and awareness for the disabled people during the election and voting period.

The two Commissioners offered to work together on tasks that are of the special needs to the community during the election.
