    President lays foundation stone for Borama-Baki highway

    Somaliland President Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro) has laid a foundation stone for the construction of the road connecting Boorama and Baki.

    The presiedent who was on a tour of the Awdal region said the construction of the road was part of the promise he made during his campaigns last year.

    The ceremony was attended by key leaders of the ruling Waddani party, government officials and development partners. Also present were the head of the Awdal region, the mayor of Boorama district, the different leaders of Awdal region.

    President Abdilahi (Cirro) noted that he is determined  to fulfill everything he promised to the people saying the road will be a key to development in the infrastructure .

    “This road will increase the production of the region whether it is farms or minerals.”

    Leaders from the Awdal region among them Muhumed Hassan Jaamac (Xodey) and the mayor of Boorama district, Mustafe Farah Qabilee  thanked the president for the project.

    The welcomed the development projects being initiated by the government.

    The chairman of the road development agency, Maxamed Farah said the road is important for the growth of the region.

    Ministers of Transport and Roads, Mr. Osman Ibrahim Afgaab, Minister of Interior Cabdalle Maxamed Carab and Minister of Information, Mr. Ahmed Yasin Sheikh Ali Ayanle, congratulated the president for his decision to fulfill his promise.

    The chairman of WADDANI party, Mr. Hirsi Ali Xaaji Xasan  pointed out that the government of WADDA-JIR called on the public to work with the government to achieve success.
