The president of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Cirro), visited and inspected the losses from the inferno that engulfed the Gobanino market on Sunday night.

The president along with some members of the cabinet some commanders of the different security forces of the country, the deputy mayor of the capital, the maroodi-jeex region and other leaders of the government have saw the extent the fire caused and the loss of property.

While the entire value of the loss has not been announced, it is feared it could run into millions of dollars.

President Abdirahman Irro expressed his sadness and said the government will ensure the market is rebuilt.

“I am sharing  my sadness and pain with the traders of Gobonnimo market and the loses incurred.  The nation is sharing with them the pain and we pray they will recover and get stronger.’

The president urged the citizens to give a hand to the people who have been affected by the losses, and take part in raising funds to help rebuild the market.

He said the government will work towards ensuring it curbs further losses caused by such market fires.

The president said a technical committee has been set up to provide advice on how to recover the losses.
