Opposition Waddani party wrapped up its presidential campaign on Friday with a strong message to the voters to support change when they cast their votes on Wednesday, November 13 for the presidential elections.
Led by its candidate Abdirahman Irro, the Waddani party said time has come for a new political dispensation in Somaliland which will bring fresh hope to the citizens.
Amid chants from the youth shouting “Bihi (Musa Bihi current president) down” Irro said the next three days ae very crucial for every Somaliland national as they deliberate whether to vote for continuity or reforms.
Speaking in Burco where he was welcomed by an excited crowd of youth and women clad in the party’s Orange colours, Irro said he has delivered his proposal to the people of Somaliland and it is with their vote that they will accept it.
“For the last one month, my team and I have traversed the country selling our agenda. We have told the people what we will offer against what has been put on the table for you by the current regime over the last seven years. Now it is upon you to accept what we are offering you,” he said.
Irro castigate the Kulmiye leadership for ignoring the people’s voices over the last seven years and asked President Muse Biho to start packing because “his time is over.”
Friday’s rallies in the eastern part of Somaliland were a culmination of a month long campaign across the country by Waddani who are offering the ruling party its sternest challenge for the presidency.
The last round of campaigns took Waddani to Burco, the Goo district, Ceerigabo, Oodwayne, Berbera, Borama and Hergeisa among other regions of the country where the orange colours dominated.
