Somaliland main opposition party WADDANI officially kickstarted its council meeting that will culminate to the party convention to confirm its presidential candidate for the November 13 elections.
The meeting of the central council is being held in the capital Hargeisa.
The meeting was attended by the presidential and vice-presidential candidates of the party, the chairman of the party, the deputy chairman of the party and all the members of the central council of the WADDANI party and various guests.
WADDANI deputy chairman Dr Mohamed Abdillahi Omar said the meeting is in preparation for the upcoming presidential elections set for November 13.
“Today we had a meeting with leaders including: the planning secretary of the Waddani party, Mr. Hamse Khayre, the secretary of the regions and districts, Mr. Mohamed Bokh, MP Abdirashid Farax Haybe, MP Ahmed-Weli Khaliif, Mrs. Samsam Salah-Yacnile, Politician Abdiqani Daahir, Politician Ali Nuur and Burale who are all part of them. The leaders of Waddani party who are from Gabiley region,” Dr Omar said
He added: “The meeting set on course the preparation forthe upcoming elections. We also discussed about the strategy of the base which is the motivation and awareness of the voters of Gabiley and Maroodijeex.
The WADDANI party’s central council meeting will close tomorrow, and it is set to elect the party’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates. The party’s political program will also be presented at this meeting.
