The Waddani presidential candidate, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi had received endorsements from powerful politicians across the country.
Former ministers, judges, governors and members of parliament endorsed him to give his presidential charge a perfect lift four months to the polls
The former ministers who support Abdirahman include Mohamed Abdilahi Omar, the foreign minister under President Silanyo and, until recently, President Bihi’s right hand man.
Abdiqadir Iman, a former agricultural minister under President Bihi, Abdirashid Mohamed, a prominent politician and member of Berbera local government and elected from Kulmiye, veteran politician Ibrahim Dhegawayne who was Somali National Movement prominent commander, former MP Kijaandhe, former MP Artan, a former member of the electoral body, Abdirahman Dihood, Awale Ibrahim, minister of planning under president Bihi are among a long list of ruling party leaders who moved to support Waddani presidential hopeful.
However, the most consequential of these endorsements is the upcoming agreement between the Waddani party and the Kaah political association. In this agreement, the Kaah political association, led by Mohamoud Hashi, a former minister of the presidency and a key campaigner for President Bihi in 2017, is expected to support Abdirahman’s presidential bid.
This support could make Abdirahman’s votes in the eastern three regions uncontested.
