Ethiopia top businessmen keen to invest in Somaliland

Traders express their interests in expanding their businesses at the modern port of Berbera.

The minister of the ministry of trade and tourism of the republic of Somaliland,  Adirahman Hassan Nuur  has welcomed Ethiopian business community to invest in Somaliland.

This was after he held a meeting with leading Ethiopian businessmen in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Thursday morning.

Ethiopian businessmen present included:  Mr. Pandian – owner of Avon Industries PLC, Mr. Rajeev – owner of Anmol Paper Products Ethiopia PLC and Mr. Naval Agarwal – Owner of Maruti PLC.
The discussions centered on business and investment opportunities in Somaliland, with the traders   expressing their interests in expanding their businesses in Somaliland and using the modern port of Beerbera.
Mr. Pandian, Mr. Rajeev, and Mr. Naval Agarwal told the minister that their companies are planning large investments in Somaliland, pointing out that the Berbera port is the best gateway to connect their business to international markets.
On his side, Minister  Abdirahman Hassan Nuur thanked the interest shown by the traders in Somaliland, saying that the government is ready to meet all the necessary requirements and encourage the development of the trade and investment in the country.
