The opposition is now accusing President Musa Bihi of plotting to dismantle the Somaliland democratic system to remain in power.
Chairman of the Opposition Party UCID Eng. Faysal Ali Warabe, further said that the president is silently preparing for a civil war, again.
The chairman of UCID accused the president of Somaliland of being behind the civil war in Somaliland in 1994 and today is once again preparing for a civil war, calling the public to be aware.
“It is clear today that President Muse is determined not hold elections and wants to extend his term by any means necessary,” said the Eng. Warabe in Hargeisa.
He added: “Muse and his cohorts were responsible in what happened in Somaliland in 1994, and they are at it again”
At the same time the UCID party leader reiterated the opposition’s commitment in holding peaceful demonstrations in the country to push the government to hold the elections on time.
“The protests are in the final stages of preparation and we will hold a peaceful one.
Opposition parties insist that the presidential elections be held by November 13, 2022 while the Somaliland government is pushing for a postponement of the presidential election and is insisting in registering new parties.
