Waddani delegation meets foreign diplomats in Nairobi

A delegation from the Somaliland main opposition party WADDANI is in the Kenya capital Nairobi for series of meetings with members of the international community.

The party deputy leader Dr Mohamed Abdilahi Omar who is part of the delegation said their mission is to pave the way for the revival of Somaliland’s relationship with the world.

“In this meeting with members of the international community who work closely with Somaliland, we discussed issues related to the upcoming elections, security and also the plans for the National Party,” said

“As a party, we have a duty not to look at the outgoing government as it has slowed down the relations and transactions that this country had with the world. Of course, the seven years that this regime has ruled has not only alienated the people of the country, but it also alienated Somaliland and the rest of the world,” added Dr Omar.

The party will hold more meetings with members of the diplomatic community as it aims to rebuild close ties.
