Somalia’s Envoy to Somaliland meets with EU and Turkey ambassadors

Somalia’s president’s Special Envoy for Somaliland Affairs, Abdikarim Hussein Guled, has held talks with the Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, Ibrahim Mete Yagli to discuss the importance of continuing the dialogue between the Federal Government of Somalia and Somaliland.

Guled appreciated the continued efforts of the Turkish Government in supporting talks between Somalia and Somaliland and the Turkish envoy full support for the reconciliation process. Earlier today, the Special Envoy of the President of Somalia for Somaliland Affairs, Abdikarim Hussein Guled, also met with the European Union Ambassador to Somalia, Mrs. Tiina Intelmann.

The meeting held in Mogadishu, discussed ways to achieve a successful reconciliation between the Federal Government of Somalia and Somaliland.

The envoy briefed the Ambassador on the progress made so far and the challenges that need to be addressed. The envoy also shared that the Federal Government of Somalia is ready to discuss any issue related to the reconciliation process and expressed his appreciation for the European Union’s continued support of the process.
