VP chairs cabinet meeting in absence of president

Somaliland Vice President Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi chaired his first ever cabinet meeting on Thursday in the absence of president Abdirahman Irro who is away on official visit in the United Arab Emirates.

The meeting discussed on the security and economic situations in the country with the ministers of Interior and Finance respectively giving a brief.

The finance minister gave a brief on the tax collection initiative and increasing the income of the country while the implementation of the national revenue union plan that the president had recently directed.

There were also discussion on the health situation especially in the conflict regions of Sanaag, Sarar and Togdheer with the ministry of health sending specialized doctors for surgery and management of emergency situations.
