Waddani officials visit party members held in prison

Officials of the leading opposition party Waddani in the weekend paid a visit to the party followers currently held in prison at the Baki district jail in Awdal region.

Party chairman Hirsi Ali Hassan led the team that visited the prisoners who have been in police cells after being arrested during the national demonstrations called by the opposition party a fortnight ago to push for the government to hold presidential elections in November.

Hirsi Ali Hassan was accompanied the candidate for Vice President Mr. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, Deputy Chairman of Milgo Mohamed Sanbalooshe, Deputy Chairman of the Party Mr. Abubakar Abdirahman Good on his visit.

The country’s opposition parties are opposed to the Muse Bihi government’s postponement of the presidential elections on November 13, 2022, and called for the continuation of a pro-election protests.
