Remittance company Dahabshiil wins two global excellence awards

Leading Africa money transfer company Dahabshiil has received two Global Good Governance awards from cambridgeIFA a global institution, for Best services to Diaspora and Excellence in Money Transfer. 

Dahabshiil which has roots in over 120 countries across the world has played a key role in boosting the economy of African nations through remittances from the diaspora over the last two decades.

An elated Dahabshiil Group Chief Executive Officer Abdirashid Duale said the award is in recognition of the role the company has played in socio economic development in the areas it operates in. 

Duale expressed his appreciation to the organisers for recognising the work that Dahabshiil does and reiterated the company’s goal to facilitate financial transactions to vulnerable communities and those supporting them even in the most remote areas.

Duale at the same time thanked Dahabshiil’s customers, staff, agents and their continued support.

“This is a great honour not only to Dahabshiil but to indigenous African companies that are playing a role in the economic development of the continents but also supporting the less fortunate,” said Duale.

“The awards confirm our status as among the global remittance firms worldwide, providing easy, swift, secure transactions worldwide,” Duale added.

The 3G Awards promote good governance and commitment to social welfare by recognising leadership efforts of individuals, governments, corporations and NGOs in practicing good governance principles in their functioning, recognizing implementation of innovative practices, programmes and projects that promote the cause of good governance, transparency and social responsibility and enthusing governments, corporates and NGOs in focusing on good governance and social responsibility practices.

Duale said Dahabshiil will continue with its goal to provide critical financial services to unbanked communities in remote areas.
